We Organized- Drawing competition/workshop on 25th January at Poisar, Kandivali,Mumbai

We organized drawing competition/workshop on 25th January 2015 at Poisar,Kandivali,Mumbai.More than 150 kids living in a slum there participated. We want to thank all volunteers specially Reena,Sunita and Anita. Who helped Ixora Society to organized that event. Also people living there who during that event helped us and brought their kids. Also special thanks to new volunteer of Ixora Society, Mr.Vineet Rastogi and his wife!Also Anita forming self help group of women living there and Ixora Society helping them. Reena and Sunita will co-ordinate. Already 11 women joined Anita's self help group!  

Fatty Liver Diesease- awareness campaign

Doctors say that in more than 90% cases, patients don’t realize that they have a liver disease until it’s late. Liver diseases are a silent killer. Alcohol abuse cause maximum cases of cirrhosis of Liver. Nearly 200,000 people in India die of terminal liver disease every year. Most of the people can be saved by transplants or early detection and treatment.

Almost all heavy alcohol drinkers have fatty liver disease. Liver can’t work properly and liver failure, liver cancer, and liver-related death may occur. Fatty Liver Disease is one of the main causes of cirrhosis of liver. Only Ultrasound Test can detect Fatty Liver. Contact nearest hospital for Ultrasound Test. If you have Fatty Liver Disease- STOP ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION.

We tried to create more awareness on fatty liver disease among auto rickshaw drivers in Mumbai. People who live in slum areas in Poisar and near Cooper Hospital.

Though most of the people know alcohol consumption not good for health and still they drink. Hope after our campaign at least some people, who are heavy drinker, visit nearest hospital and do Ultrasound Test!
